re3Dprinting
Приєднався 13 бер 2013
The official UA-cam channel of re:3D, a Texas-based startup pushing the limits of 3D printing. Our flagship hardware product, Gigabot, is the world's most affordable large-scale 3D printer.
Founded January 2, 2013, re:3D is committed to decimating the cost & scale barriers to industrial 3D printing. After pioneering the world’s first affordable, human-scale industrial 3D printer, re:3D is now enabling 3D printing directly from reclaimed plastic pellets or flake.

Wood Pulp Fiber Reinforced Polypropylene-based Polymer Composites for MEAM
July's presenter was Dr. Wang, a sustainable materials scientist who specializes in cellulose materials and biodegradable polymers. He spoke about how additive manufacturing, also known as 3D printing, is reshaping the world by reforming the way materials are manufactured. Material-Extrusion Additive Manufacturing (MEAM) is one of the 3d printing techniques that could be used for printing thermoplastics. Because of its simplicity and low-cost, MEAM receives more attention compared to other AM techniques. Polypropylene (PP) is one of the most widely used commodity thermoplastics with applications in various industries. However, common PP grade is difficult to print with MEAM because they shrink and warp significantly during printing. Wood pulp fibers are strong reinforcements for commodity thermoplastics. Additionally, incorporating pulp fibers in PP will potentially make PP more printable. In this presentation, we will learn how pulp fibers were compounded with PP-based polymers to generate MEAM-grade feedstock.

I'm not really sure this has aged very well A lot of what she said is no longer correct, but that's the great thing about tech advancement Her focus on booze is also kinda weird, multiple mentions of it seems odd
I think it should wash its hair from time to time
We need Johns website so we can buy from him. Please.
Stopped watching when you said Simplify3d was "one of the best." It's the absolute worst.
this is not ping pong, this is "returning a ping pong ball on a table that is as curved as a bow using a 3d printed ping pong paddle"
Uf, this prints are not very good. Sorry
Price???
wow!! that's so fricking cool dude!!! pls more :)
Congrats, you are one of the few who really show their 3d print business location.
Bro what the fuck is wrong with your beard
any update? did you hit the market?
thanks
how much does it cost to make one Mannequin liek that?
I would love to visit that place someday, and I am only a couple of hours drive from there. I'm a wannabe hack sometimes sculptor and I aspire to have something done in bronze someday. Nothing huge, but like a table top piece, a couple feet high at the most. Is it more or less affordable for some goofball like me?

How do you set build plate temperature if you print a PLA part with PETG supports, when both the PLA and PETG are in contact with the build plate? The glass transition temperatures of both materials are so different; the 60°C you need for PLA is too cold for PETG, and the 85°C you need for PETG is too hot for PLA. Is the solution to just use a PETG raft for everything?
Wow! Awesome work! Congratulations ! May I ask what parameters of the lion, what size nozzle did you use and how long did it take to print? How many kilos of filament was used ? Thank you! Vadim G
Hi Here's the specs from the print: Print time: 46 hours Layer height: 0.6mm w/ 0.8mm nozzle Infill: 9% Material: PLA Height: 22″ tall Weight: 14.4 lbs before post-processing ; 10.2 lbs after post-processing

Hello, do you sell the control board separately?
Hello! We do not currently due to supply chain constraints.
How do you get .005" with plastic rollers linear slides???
We machine our metal parts to tolerances of 0.005". 3D prints are accurate to within 0.005”/0.1mm up to 6”/152mm. Beyond that, within 0.001”/0.025mm per 1”/25mm.
@@re3Dprinting that's amaizing, most of the Time roller slides try to overcome rail itself tollerances out of spec, this kind of machine Is sent fully assembled and tested???
@@fireblade639 thank you, and yes it is sent fully assembled, tested and calibrated.
How big was the printer
It was printed on a 600 x 760 x 900mm Gigabot 3+ XLT!
This looks very uneficient
Great showcase. It would be awesome if we could get metric conversions on the screen.
Thanks for your feedback. We'll pin a comment with the metric build volume. More metric specs are available at re3d.org/gigabot/
how many mm/s can your hotend flow?
60mm/s is normal on 0.4mm nozzles, but it can be pushed to almost 3x that
Talk in metric units! You should be ashamed still using inches.
Love that you say it is hard to print with mechanically recycled materials. I agree. It's a jungle out there and traceability is one of the keys! Keep on printing!

cool, I like your creative design. I am also working on 3D printed drones among other designs. Heres a link to what I am working on; ua-cam.com/video/95c_0AM_DW8/v-deo.html
What sort of prep is required for recycled PET? I have the suspicion that due to some government programs where I'm located it would be easy to get infinite plastic bottles for free. Would love to see a large scale effort to turn them into 3d printed furniture or something, but most of the processes I've seen for recycling them are far too picky to be automated cheaply. People are removing labels, using solvent to remove glue, removing the little rings on the top, drying for 5-10 hours etc. Just wondering if you think it would be possible to just dump a ton of bottles into a massive grinder, caps and all, then print with the resultant material. I think the various material inconsistencies might average out at scale and you could just optimize the print settings for the so called "average mix".
I am one of your early customers... Still Printing away!... Great video.
Awesome! Thank you!
What does she print? just whatever someone wants?
3D printing+beer=4d printing 🤪
100% genuine, and totally agree with need for spirit lifters ABSOLUTELY agree. I'm someone who has a very hard time turning off the mind switch and wants to keep going until the task is done whatever it is. But just how she said, sometimes the best thing to do is to shut the machine off and crack a beer or whatever. Great video, you just got yourself a new subscriber.
